Our Commitment to Transparency
Devour Destinations is an independent editorial publication dedicated to providing honest, well-researched content about dining travel and culinary destination guides. We believe you deserve to know when and how we earn money from the content we publish. This page explains our affiliate relationships clearly and completely.
What Is an Affiliate Link?
An affiliate link is a specially tracked URL that tells a retailer, tour operator, or service provider that you arrived on their site via a recommendation from us. If you make a qualifying purchase or booking after clicking one of these links, we earn a commission — a small percentage of the sale paid by the merchant. This comes at no additional cost to you. You pay exactly the same price you would pay by going directly to the merchant’s website.
Programs We Participate In
Devour Destinations participates in the following affiliate advertising programs:
- Amazon Associates
- Viator
- GetYourGuide
- restaurant booking platforms
- and similar travel and dining programs
This list reflects our primary affiliate relationships. We may occasionally participate in additional programs and will update this page accordingly. Not every link on this site is an affiliate link — many links are purely editorial references with no commercial relationship.
How Affiliate Revenue Works for Us
Affiliate commissions are one of the primary ways Devour Destinations funds its operation. Running a content site involves costs: writing, research, photography, hosting, and software. When you book a tour, purchase a product, or make a reservation through one of our links, you directly support the work we do — without paying anything extra.
How This Affects Our Editorial Content
It doesn’t — and that’s the point. Our editorial team recommends products, services, tours, and destinations because we believe in them, not because of how much commission they generate. We regularly recommend options with no affiliate relationship at all when they are genuinely the best choice. We do not accept payment in exchange for positive reviews or guaranteed coverage.
Where we have tested or personally experienced a product or destination, we say so. Where our recommendation is based on research and user reports rather than personal experience, we are transparent about that too.
If a product or service we have previously recommended no longer meets our standards, we update or remove the recommendation — regardless of its affiliate status.
FTC Disclosure
In accordance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s guidelines on endorsements and testimonials (16 CFR Part 255), we disclose that Devour Destinations earns commissions from qualifying purchases made through affiliate links on this site. This global disclosure applies to all pages of the site. Where appropriate, individual articles may also carry inline disclosures near relevant affiliate links.
Third-Party Privacy
When you click an affiliate link and visit a third-party site, that site may set its own cookies and collect information about your visit under its own privacy policy. We do not control those practices. Please review the privacy policy of any third-party site you visit before completing a purchase. For details on how we handle data on our own site, see our Privacy Policy.
